Rank equivalents
I don’t know about you, but I get confused when it comes to comparing ranks. That’s why I thought it might be helpful to compile some kind of a list to indicate how ranks from different armies and navies were equated. Actually, this proved to be more difficult than I first thought since many organizations—navies in particular—don’t always have similar ranks in other countries. To complicate things further, it seems that even among NATO armies, there isn’t complete agreement as to which ranks equate—their official Web sites are often at odds. At any rate, although this list may not be perfect, it’s still pretty close.
