Danish State Railways ferry officer’s visor cap
Denmark consists of over 500 islands, of which about 100 are inhabited. As such, ferries—often operated by the Danish State Railways (DSB)—have been a key part of the country’s infrastructure for many, many years. In 1998, a major tunnel/bridge opened, linking two of the main geographic areas, Seeland and Funen, which has sounded the death knell for ferries plying the Great Belt. Personally, I’ll miss them.
