Netherlands   Dutch Regional Police chief’s visor cap In April, 1994, the two major Dutch police organizations, “Rijkspolitie,” which was similar to the U.S. State Police, merged with the “Gemeentepolitie,” (like Metro PDs). The new organization, the Dutch Regional Police Force, has 25 regions, plus a national police service agency. This cap is for the chief in charge one of these regions—the "Hoofdcommissaris”—although some "regio" have more than one chief.
