Soviet Army general’s service visor cap
This cap is several cuts above the usual Soviet stuff floating around. The patent leather brim is thick and soft and the gold bullion wreath is just stunning—though not as grand as that used on the full parade cap. Actually, this cap is a bit unusual in that it is an olive-drab cap with a large wreath. Many generals simply used the ordinary officer’s cockade with everyday uniforms. At any rate, I found this in Berlin on the Friedrichstraße next to Checkpoint Charlie in 1991.
