U.S. Marine Corps field-grade officer’s dress cap
Here’s a really nice (and extremely comfortable) dress cap, made by Berkshire, that once belonged to Major O.V. Anderson. Bruce in California was kind enough to send me this one, along with the following story. “I found it in a thrift shop where an old woman had just brought in a few items. She said it belonged to her late husband. She looked to be in her 70s so I assume her husband had retired from the Marines 25-35 years before. Whenever she mentioned her husband, she always said “the Major,” which I thought was really neat. Apparently, this man had been in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. It has the original removable name tag on the inside with his USMC serial number.” Many thanks, Bruce!
