Imperial German Army officer’s visor cap
A typical Prussian cap of this period with the characteristic short brim. The red cap band indicates that this is for an infantry officer. A stamp on the inside shows that this cap was rented out by a Berlin costume-supply company during the 20’s—this is not uncommon to see. I think the national cockade (at the top) is a modern replacement. Thanks to Ken in Georgia for this beauty. |

This is a grand uncle of mine who was in the Bavarian army. The photo is from about 1905. |
