Spanish matador cap
My boss Claus and I, along with two of our clients, Palle and Catrine, were on a business trip to Madrid in 1990. We went into town for a drink after our meetings and stumbled across a fabulous hat shop on the Plaza Mayor—and I came out with this lamb’s wool matador’s cap. The evening ended with Catrine trying to direct a taxi driver to a jazz club she knew, while the drunks in the back seat took turns wearing the matador’s cap and singing “You Never Walk Alone.” Doing business in Spain can take a lot out of you...
