Danish Civil Protection officer’s visor cap (M39)
With the world gearing up for war in 1939, the Danes initiated “Civilbeskyttelse” or CB. The main function of these men was to help the Danish police if there was too much work for the regular police corps. The characteristic blue cap seen here dates from about 1939-43 and judging by the two oak leaves on either side of the center button, was for a company-grade officer, doctor, engineer, etc. A very, very rare cap!
